Not sure that it is due to difficulty to edit a wave.
Personally, I don't find necessary to use it. I prefer to use list function.
The button is on the bottom of the windows ! So too far from people view spot. No ?
I suggest to use a popup when someone use a function for the first time and/or after few times.
For example, after few uses (click ?) of list, ask people to give feeback on list.
Same thing with doc, task...
